Goldman Sachs' Singapore macro team leaked some people too

Morgan Stanley's Singapore macro team has lost a lot of people. Goldman Sachs' Singapore macro team has lost far fewer people, but it has lost them nonetheless.

While Morgan Stanley has lost nearly 40 people from its Asian macro business in the past year or so, Goldman Sachs has lost at least three people in Singapore in the past month.

Goldman's exits are understood to include: Shash Roy, an executive director in macro sales who had been there since graduating from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2018; Edric Lee, a macro salesman who'd been there since joining from Barclays in 2018; and Corneles Jaemes D'silva, an associate who'd been there since 2022.

Goldman Sachs declined to comment on their whereabouts. All three ignored efforts to discuss their locations.

We understand, however, that they all have new jobs. Corneles already says he's at Morgan Stanley on LinkedIn. Lee is thought to be going to Morgan Stanley too. Roy is thought to be joining JB Drax. They are all understood to specialise in FX rather than rates.

More moves are likely. Singapore's macro hiring market is unusually liquid this year. Morgan Stanley has many, many more holes to fill. Now Goldman has some too. Ash Ang, the Singapore-based head of macro sales at Goldman, is thought to be the person to direct any applications to.
