Hedge fund Jain Global paid £611k per head in London last year as profits doubled
Hedge fund Jain Global has released some UK accounts and in many ways they seem pretty fine.
The fund, run by Bobby Jain, who is returning to the lap of Izzy Englander, made £9.2m in profits at Jain Global (UK) Partners last year. This was an increase in the £6m in profits Jain Global made in the previous accounting period, which ran for 16 months between the entity's formation in September 2023 and the end of December 2024.

As Jain grew, it embarked upon a hiring spree. Headcount tripled to 89 people in London. These people were paid an average of £611k each in 2025, down from the circa £900k Jain paid on an annualised basis on the previous period.
Jain Global also had five London partners, one of whom - Paul Jefferys - resigned in September last year. Another was Jain Global UK Limited, the holding company owning the LLP. The other three, who are still in place, are Ashwin Kumar, James O'Callaghan and Surendran Pathmanathan.
Jain Global's UK partners shared £9.2m in profits for 2025. However, most of this, £7.5m, appears to have gone to Jain Global (UK) Ltd, leaving the individual partners with around £2.4m between them.
The reason for Jain Global's diminshing UK average pay in the face of rising UK average profit is not clear. It's possible that the fund hired all its most expensive people first and then supplemented them with less costly recruits thereafter. The accounts say Jain likes to keep its costs flexible.
Jain Global didn't immediately respond to a request to comment.
Jain Global is now managing money only for Millennium. Business Insider reported earlier this month that it ended its life as an independent fund with a loss of 0.2%, putting 2026 returns at 3.7% until that point.
