Bank CEO's wife shares insights on the art of staying married

It's not easy to maintain a 35-year marriage when you work in financial services, but Steven Fine, the CEO of UK-based mid-cap investment bank Peel Hunt, has achieved this.

Fine's wife has been sharing the secrets of their enduring romance.

Speaking on the Instagram account of their daughter, the influencer Gemma Alster, Fine's wife Jacqueline said the rules for a long marriage include: always going to bed at the same time, even if you're not tired; never looking at screens or having a TV in the bedroom so that you are not distracted from intimacy; making time for each other even if you are exhausted. "You have no chance of having a good sex life if you don't make time for each other," Jacqueline explained.

Peel Hunt declined to comment. Peel Hunt insiders say they watch the videos keenly in order to better understand their CEO. Fine himself features in some of the videos, which are also popular on TikTok.

Fine is understood to be relaxed about his daughter's channels and their content. Some Peel Hunt insiders have raised eyebrows about the apparent opulence on display, although this is standard influencer fare.

Peel Hunt paid few bonuses for three years from 2022, before paying bonuses again this year. For the year ending March 2026, it reduced headcount by 31 people to 267 and spent an average of £269k per head on staff costs. Fine himself received total compensation of £1.4m after a strong year.

Fine's daughter's influencer status is well known in London financial services circles. One competitor observed that Fine seems very vigorous.

Jefferies' CEO Richard Handler also has a daughter who is active on Instagram and has also been married for a long time. It is not clear whether he allows screens in bed.
